Building the Vision

One decade ago, FRTAB members traveled to Thimphu to conceive a vision of a dynamic academy that would protect and advance the timeless art form of Bhutanese textiles. Today that vision has materialized into a thriving modern complex, the Royal Textile Academy, which is a beacon for all who seek to grow in their understanding and appreciation of one of the world’s oldest and most sacred art forms. Three (and a soon-to-be completed fourth) world-class buildings now stand against the Himalayas where before there was only imagination joined with an unfaltering determination to make the vision real.
